TPRS SEMINAR FOR GERMAN TEACHERS 2009
EDUC 630 TPRS Seminar
for German Teachers I (Elementary TPRS) (3)
An Introduction to
the teaching of German using TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and
Storytelling) and practice of basic TPRS teaching techniques. This seminar
is arranged with breakout sessions for individuals and smaller groups along
with some whole group instruction. Academic credit is granted on the basis
of work in the seminar sessions and an independent project.
Prerequisite: Application made through the American Association
of Teachers of German
Class hours: 40+ hours
of lecture, discussion and hands-on training including additional time to
prepare lessons using TPRS and to participate in other activities using their
German language skills.
EDUC 631 TPRS Seminar
for German Teachers II (Intermediate TPRS) (3)
A Review of TPRS (Teaching
Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) theories and development of
some more difficult components of teaching in a TPRS classroom. This seminar
is arranged with breakout sessions for individuals and smaller groups along
with some whole group instruction. Academic credit is granted on the basis
of work in the seminar sessions and an independent project.
Prerequisite: Application made through the American Association
of Teachers of German
Class hours: 40+ hours
of lecture, discussion and hands-on training including additional time to
prepare lessons using TPRS and to participate in other activities using their
German language skills.
EDUC 632 TPRS Seminar
for German Teachers III (Advanced TPRS) (3)
Practice and development
of advanced TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and
Storytelling) skills
that make or break a TPRS lesson. This seminar is arranged with breakout
sessions for individuals and smaller groups along with some whole group instruction.
Academic credit is granted on the basis of work in the seminar sessions and
an independent project.

of Teachers of German
Class hours: 40+ hours of lecture, discussion and hands-on training including additional time to prepare lessons using TPRS and to participate in other activities using their German language skills.
