She completed her Master's at Middlebury after graduation from Sweet Briar., is married and has three children, Sara , John and Sohale .. (letter from 2002) Lisa also attended the reunion in May, 2006)

Lisa L.(Redd) Toliver(1986)

Here's a little info to share: SBC Majors: Math-Comp. Science and German
I have worked at Fannie Mae in the computer field since January 1987. I am married with three boys, Julian, Jordan, and Tristan, 10, 8, and 6, respectively living in Laurel, MD. Over the years, my exposure to German has decreased and I regret this absence. During my SBC years, Mr. Horwege and I spoke about finding a computer job in a "German" surrounding. The thought of returning to Germany after my Senior semester is Heidelberg was quite enticing. Needless to say, my journey has not brought this to fruition. Getting back to German is always a lingering thought among the many that constitute my busy life. I remember my Sweet Briar days rather fondly and my experience in the German Department is a highlight in those memoirs. I would love to hear from those German graduates either living or visiting in my area. Thanks, Lisa (2001).( Lisa was also at the reunion in May, 2006)

In the spring semesters of 2005 and 2006 we were privileged to have the services of Stefanie Nauhardt Parker, a young woman from Weissenfels, Germany with her Magister from the University of Leipzig. She taught two courses in order to give Professor Horwege some released time to fulfill his duties as Chair of the Faculty Senate. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. studies at the University of Virginia

In 2006 two students, Maggie Nicholson and Lindsey spent the summer in Münster and in 2005 Julie Midgley and Megan O'Neil were with the program .In 2002 two Sweet Briar students participated: Karlena Sakas (2005) and Virginia Fowler (2004). One student participated in the Summer Program in Münster in 2001: Christian Martin. Professor Horwege also participated in the Münster Program in 2002 and in 2006.

During the 2000-2001 academic year the German program was also enhanced by the addition of a DuPont Scholar. Maria Morrison, a doctoral candidate at the University of Virginia.
